Registering at www.miniatures.com
How do I register for a miniatures.com account?
To create a miniatures.com account, simply go to “Register Now,” located to the right of the home page, complete the form and create a password to use for your account login. Your user name is your email address. You must create an account to place an order.
What’s required when creating a username and password?
When creating a username and password at registration, provide your email address and use a unique combination of letters and/or numbers for your password, avoid using spaces and symbols.
Why is providing my email address important?
Our new system uses your email address to provide for better authentication, order history and order confirmation. Please keep your email address up-to-date.
I'm having trouble entering my Canada address, where should I enter my province?
When entering your Canada address at registration or at any other form that requires your address, use the "Address Line 2" for province and additional address information and use the dash (-) as your state selection.
About your miniatures.com account
How can I change my personal information?
Changing your personal information is quick and easy. After logging in, go to “MY ACCOUNT” then “edit profile.” Your information will appear for you to edit accordingly. Once finished, click “submit.”
Can I save my order now and submit later?
Yes, the option to save your shopping basket is available to all miniatures.com account holders. You can shop now, add later and return the next day to submit your order!
What is a Wish List?
A "Wish List" is a place to save your favorite items.
How can I add items to my wish list?
To add an item to your wish list, simply click the "Add To Wish List" button next to the item you would like to add. Then, click "Wish List" from any point on the site to review your favorites. You can save as many items as you would like in your Wish List. Please note that placing an item in your Wish List does not "reserve" it. You must complete the checkout process in order to guarantee purchase of that item. This is of particular importance when dealing with closeout and sale items which tend to move quickly.
How do I move items from my wish list to my shopping cart?
When you are ready to order an item, choose “Move” to add the item to your Shopping Basket.
I forgot my username and password, how can I find out what I used?
With so many on-line accounts these days, it is quite natural to forget your username and password. Remember your email address is your username. To obtain your miniatures.com password, simply click “Forgot Password?” and complete the form. Your password will be emailed to you instantly! If the system was unable to retrieve your password, email us at hbs@miniatures.com.
How do I log off?
Our site will automatically log you off after 60 minutes or simply close your browser.
Redeeming special offers and discounts
Where can I find my Bonus Dollar coupon number to redeem my Bonus Dollar amount at check out?
Your Bonus Dollar coupon number will appear on your order confirmation email and in the green side bar when signed in your miniatures.com account.
How can I redeem Bonus Dollars from my previous online order?
To redeem Bonus Dollar credit from a previous online order, first place an order of $75 net or greater before the expiration date. Once this subtotal is reached, the “Bonus Dollar” box will appear in the “Bonus Dollar” section of the check out page. Then, enter the confirmation code received in your confirmation email from the previous order in that box. Click “apply” in the Bonus Dollar section.
What is a media code? Where should I enter it?
A media code, also known as a source code, may automatically appear depending upon how you originally came to our site. If you prefer to use an alternate code, simply delete the existing code, type in the code from the promotional piece or the back of the catalog you prefer to use in the media code box on the check out page, and click the "apply" button. If no media code appears and you do not have a code, simply leave blank. Promotional media codes will prohibit you from using Bonus Dollars.
Can I use bonus dollars and other discounts with my Internet discount?
You may use bonus dollars with your Internet discount; however, you cannot combine other coupons, discounts or special offers with the standard Internet 10% discount.
Can I use a gift certificate online?
You can use eGift certificates on web orders. A family member or a friend can email an eGift certificate to you!
Ordering
How do I remove items from my shopping basket?
Removing items from your shopping basket and/or Quick Order form is as easy as 1-2-3. Simply, enter a zero in the quantity column of the product and click “update cart.”
I’ve added items to my shopping cart, but there are no items in the cart. How can I prevent this from happening?
Make sure you are logged into your account. If you are adding items from a list, before proceeding to the next page click add to cart before moving to the next page.
If I already know the items I want to order, can I go straight to an order form?
Yes, you can with “Quick Order.” It allows you to enter the item number directly to an order form without having to navigate through the site. After completing the form, click “update cart” and then proceed to “check out.”
At check out, I click continue and then I'm asked to click update. How can I get past the update message?
If you make a change in the "Bill to" section and or "Ship to" section or any section at check out, you must click the update button located within that section before clicking continue.
When I click update at check out my order form goes blank. How can I place my order?
Please contact customer service at 1.800.223.7171, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (ET) to talk with a customer service representative. We will assist you with placing your order and of course, any Internet discounts/promotions will be honored.
How can I check the status of my order?
To check the status of your order, sign-in, then click “order history” located to the right under “Recent Order Details” in the green side bar above “What’s New.” Please allow at least 24-hours after submission to view your order placed online. If “Order History” does not appear, contact us via email at hbs@miniatures.com or call customer service at 1.800.223.7171, Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
Is my personal information private and secure?
All pages that require personal information, such as your name and address, are protected by a secure socket layer protector-often called SSL. SSL encrypts information as it is being entered so that no one else can access the information entered.
Is my credit card information saved under my profile?
No. For added protection, credit card information is no longer stored in your miniatures.com profile. HBS does not save credit card information on any computer system which is directly accessible via the Internet beyond the duration of time required to process an order.
What is TBD?
To Be Determined (TBD) will appear under "Order Summary" at "Shipping/Processing" if you request Two-Day Air delivery (shipping to an address within the 48 contiguous United States) with a dollhouse in your shopping cart or if you are shipping to a Canadian, AK, HI, Am. Samoa, Guam, P.R. or the U.S.V.I. address with a dollhouse in your shopping cart or shipping to any International address. What is CVV?
Card Verification Value (CVV) provides an additional level of online fraud protection. The number is located on your credit card and is generally three to four digits long. MasterCard, Visa, Discover – a three digit non-embossed number on the back of the card printed within the signature panel after the account number. AMEX – a four digit non-embossed number on the face of the card, just above the embossed account number.
Will I receive an email confirmation at the time of order placement?
Yes, after each order, you will receive a confirmation number along with a confirmation email detailing all items ordered and Bonus Dollar information (if applicable).
I didn’t receive a confirmation number did my order go through?
In order to receive a confirmation number, you must continue through each page until a confirmation number is issued.
How do you qualify for free shipping?
We pay for shipping on orders $225 net and over!

Where should I begin to search for a product?
Locating exactly what you need couldn't be easier! Select from one of the product categories listed to the left (at any time) or enter a keyword or product item number in the search box to the right of the screen.
How do I search for an article referenced in the catalog online?
Simply enter the keyword in the search box to the right of the screen. A listing of products and articles will appear in the center. Click on the link of the article to view.
I’m looking for a product, but the search returns “No items could be located.” Is it available?
Possibly, first, check the item number and/or keyword entered. If the information matches the product number from the catalog and or word used, then contact us via email at hbs@miniatures.com or call customer service at 1.800.223.7171 to check the status of that item. The product could be sold out or not yet added to the site.
Will I be able to find the same information in the catalog and on the website?
The website contains the same products and information as the catalog, plus more.
What is MDF?
MDF-Medium Density Fiberboard-is a wood-based composite material that draws on the usage of wood fibers, rather than particles or veneers, to produce sheet materials. This type of wood is sturdy and has good weathering properties. MDF features:
- Environmentally sensitive
- Smooth-requires minimal sanding
- Splinter-free
- Uniform thickness
- Harder surface than plywood
What miniature scales are featured at miniatures.com?
Most of our products are 1” scale (1” = 1’) a.k.a. 1/12th scale. All other scales (1/2”, 1/4”, 1/144” and Playscale) appear in the special scale section.
