A fine-point applicator helps when using #61308 and #1249 for assembling wood or paper accessory and furniture kits. (Other white glues listed are too thick.)
Use of too much adhesive is the main cause of wallpapering problems.
* Recommended application method for wallpaper and similar materials with wallpaper adhesives, briefly: Apply to destination surface with stiff plastic card or brush (depending on product); use card to spread very thinly and evenly over entire surface and remove any excess beyond a barely visible (shiny) layer; lay pre-cut paper in place; smooth out from center with clean, soft rag; use rubber brayer (or similar) to roll any air bubbles out from the center, applying pressure for good bond; use J-roller (or similar) to press inside corners and edges firmly to surface; gently wipe any excess adhesive away with a lightly damp cloth.
** Hot glue has changed greatly since its early versions, which could become brittle or soften in attic heat. Today, it is preferred for applying roof shingles because the short setting time allows for quick progress. It should not be used for dollhouse assembly.
