Real Good Toys, located in Montpelier, Vermont, has been in business for 40 years and provides heirloom-quality unfinished dollhouse kits. The handcrafted parts are mostly from 3/8” and 1/4” thick materials that are cut, shaped, grooved, routed and beveled utilizing standard woodworking machinery operated by an experienced crew.

RGT’s design team incorporates many features into their kits to ensure an easy building process. Obviously, the more detailed and complicated a dollhouse looks, the more time consuming the project will be … but RGT provides siding with a distinct and realistic profile, grooves to help locate parts, bevels that truly match up, smooth pine moldings that really fit and often jigs are even included to help with assembly. Choose a kit with milled walls that have the clapboard finish cut right into the surface and all you have to do is paint the exterior. Or choose a kit with smooth walls that can be finished with textured stucco, stenciling, brick, stone or log siding for a rustic look.

The kit assembly instructions are professionally written with thorough drawings and detailed parts lists that will walk you through the project step-by-step. Most Real Good Toys dollhouse kits include everything you see in the finished photographs except the paint and glue. And RGT’s quality control is second to none. Each part is examined before it goes in the box and pieces are grouped and carefully packed to keep them safe during shipping. In the unlikely event you receive a kit with a missing or damaged part, just let us know and our friends at RGT will send a replacement right away.
