First, don’t be put off by the company’s unfamiliar name: it’s pronounced ROY-ter.

From its earliest days, in the late 1940s, Reutter Porzellan has produced high-quality miniature ceramics designed to appeal to the young and young-at-heart.

In 1951, as an early vendor at the now-famous Nuremberg Toy Fair, the family-owned company’s scaled-down versions of beautiful porcelain objects were a hit. RP has exhibited at the fair every year since and, over time, their product lines have expanded and now include giftware, toy tea sets and souvenir items in addition to miniatures. Originally, Reutter Porzellan mini items were simply reduced down from full size without specific scale in mind, but have since become standardized at 1/12 scale.

Reutter's porcelain miniatures have always been the main focus but, as miniaturists know, one little thing leads to another. Porcelain dish sets look nice displayed on a table, a table needs chairs, chairs need cushions, cushions look comfy on a bed, beds need bedside tables … Of course, dishes also look attractive in a kitchen setting, which means cabinets, porcelain sinks, appliances … and all the other accessories that make a little house a home.

Which explains how their focus has broadened and expanded, so that now our range of the company’s offerings can include wooden and resin furniture for a variety of rooms, metal miniatures that complete and complement the porcelain pieces and even fine cast resin accessories.

Reutter Porzellan continues to grow and always has new things to show every year. Some are individual pieces, some are thoughtfully designed groupings, but all involve careful hand-crafting and attention to detail, which has given them a name for reliable quality. We hope you’ll think of HBS/miniatures.com as your source for fine dollhouse miniature accessories from RP.
